LinkedIn company page for AI visibility

LinkedIn is the primary professional entity signal that AI engines use to validate company identity. A complete, well-structured LinkedIn company page adds an sameAs anchor that lifts citation confidence across all four engines.

LinkedIn is not just a social platform — it is a structured data source that AI engines treat as an authoritative entity anchor for company identity. When ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Gemini needs to validate whether "Acme Corp" the brand is the same entity as "Acme Corp" mentioned in a news article, LinkedIn's company page is one of the first structured sources it resolves against.

Why LinkedIn matters for AI citation

LinkedIn company pages appear in Common Crawl at high frequency. They have structured data (company name, industry, size, founding date, website URL) that maps directly to schema.org Organization fields. They are indexed by every major search engine and LLM training crawl.

The sameAs connection is the critical link. When your Organization schema at schema.org includes a sameAs field pointing to your LinkedIn company URL, you create a verifiable entity identity chain:

Your website → (sameAs) → LinkedIn → (crawled, high-CC-frequency) → LLM training data

This chain tells the model: "This website and this LinkedIn company page are the same entity." Without it, the model has to infer the relationship from co-mention patterns, which is less reliable and takes longer to establish.

What the LinkedIn page needs to contain

For AI visibility purposes, the LinkedIn company page must have:

  • *Company name*: exact match to your Organization schema name (including capitalisation)
  • *Website URL*: your exact canonical homepage URL
  • *Industry*: the most specific relevant category
  • *Company size*: accurate headcount range
  • *Founded*: founding year (maps to schema.org foundingDate)
  • *Tagline and about*: include your primary category keywords here — these are indexed and influence query-entity matching
  • *Logo*: uploaded at 400x400px minimum

The "About" section is the most important for AI visibility. It should clearly describe what the company does, in natural language that a model would recognise as describing the category. Avoid marketing language ("we're disrupting X") — use category language ("Veezow is an AI search visibility platform that measures...").

Connecting LinkedIn to your schema

Once your LinkedIn company page is set up, add the URL to your homepage Organization JSON-LD. Set the @type to "Organization", include your name and url, and add a sameAs array containing both your LinkedIn company URL (https://www.linkedin.com/company/yourcompany/) and your Wikidata entity URL. The LinkedIn URL should use the canonical form with a trailing slash — this is what Common Crawl indexes and what schema validators expect.

Adding founder Person entity

If the founder has a LinkedIn profile, add them as a nested Person entity inside the Organization: set "@type": "Person", include their name and jobTitle ("Founder & CEO"), and set sameAs to their LinkedIn profile URL (https://www.linkedin.com/in/founderslug/).

Person entities with LinkedIn sameAs links improve the model's confidence in the company's identity — especially for founders who have been mentioned in press coverage. The model can now map "Founder Name, CEO of Company" to the same entity as your Organization schema.

Verifying your LinkedIn setup

After setting up the LinkedIn page and updating your Organization schema:

  1. Use Google's Rich Results Test to validate the JSON-LD sameAs structure
  2. Check that your LinkedIn page appears when you search your company name in Google and Bing
  3. Wait 4-6 weeks for Common Crawl to pick up both the LinkedIn page and your updated schema
  4. Run a Veezow scan — the entity coverage score will reflect the new sameAs link

Timeline expectations

The citation lift from a LinkedIn sameAs addition typically appears within 4-8 weeks. The fastest effect is on Perplexity (retrieval-augmented, picks up entity graph changes quickly). Base model citations (ChatGPT, Claude without browsing) reflect the entity change in the next training cycle, which can take 3-6 months.
